Kenzie & Peter | The Olmstead Louisville Wedding

We had a lot of fun with Kenzie and Peter. You may remember their amazing Arizona engagement session. Well their wedding photos turned out just as beautiful, if not more so.

Jessica and I joined the girls at the home of one of the bridemaids. They were just finishing up hair and makeup with the Beauty Patrol when we arrived. Our good friend, Amy Vanover, you may have heard about her in previous posts, was the one who referred Kenzie to us. She served as one of Kenzie’s maids-of-honor. The house was full of happy talking and laughter as the girls rocked out to Lizzo and popped champagne. Before everyone got dressed, we grabbed a quick photo of Kenzie with all of the girls in their robes. Kenzie’s lovable mom was so nervous to get her in her dress, that I had to take over the zipping and she just faked the photos with a genuine smile. Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do, and they were both appreciative that someone was able to relieve the pressure.

After a sweet first look with her dad and a handful of portraits, we headed out to The Olmsted where we met up with the guys. We took some time with Peter for some solo photos. Kenzie and Peter had a great first look in front of The Olmsted. They were both so excited and emotional seeing each other. Since they were having a Catholic ceremony, where they wouldn’t be able to read their own vows, they chose this time to read some vows to one another. There were quite a few tears, and you could truly see the love between them. This the second time we’ve had a couple read their vows to each other in a private moment, and I HIGHLY recommend it. Whether you are having a ceremony where you can’t read them, or you just want to reiterate what you had already vowed during the ceremony, it adds some great emotion to your portraits.

On our way to the church for the ceremony, we made a quick detour to Kenzie’s parent’s house for a photo of her on their staircase. Kenzie is an only child, so the whole day meant so much to her parents.

The reception at The Olmsted was very classy with a few personal touches. Like a sign on the bar with their favorite drinks and the cake which featured edible succulents to represent Peter’s Arizona roots. It was a great night with heartfelt toasts and delicious food. Then the Endless Summer Band was just the icing on the cake. They do such an excellent job keeping the party going with some classic and modern tunes.

And you know we had to get a photo with Michael and Bethany Vanover who started our relationship with Amy and the many weddings who have been referred to us by all of them. We are so glad we’ve been able to be there to capture these weddings, and especially Kenzie and Peter.
