Laina and Matt's day flew by so fast, but it was still amazing all the same.
Jessica and I traveled to Moline, Illinois from Cincinnati on Thursday and were so happy to have a few days to explore the area before Laina and Matt's wedding on Saturday. We even got to try a delicious sundae at Lagomarcino's, which is a confectionery shop owned by Laina's family. They have delightful ice cream!
On Saturday, we headed to the Oakwood Country Club, where we would spend the whole day. The reception room was already set up as we waited for the girls, so were able to get a lot of photos of all of the sentimental details. Laina makes hand-lettered signs as a side business from her teaching and she made all of them for their ceremony and reception. There were also a handful of family heirlooms and mementos in various places.
Once the girls arrived, we photographed Laina's jewelry, shoes, and bouquet. Then her mom helped her get into her dress and her sister helped her with her jewelry and shoes. Laina was ready to go as soon as she was dressed and was nothing but excited for her first look with Matt.
Their first look was so sweet and personal. They were both so happy to be together. Matt had written Laina a song, which she wrote out on a sign for them to hang in their home. He was so excited when he unwrapped it. Later, before being announced into the reception, we were able to take Laina and Matt out onto the golf course for some photos of just the two of them.
At the reception, after dinner, Laina's dad gave a heartfelt speech about his daughter and how happy he was to have Matt in their family. It was so sweet to see how close they are- they even showed off some fun moves during their first dance to "She Drives Me Crazy" by Five Young Cannibals. In lieu of a cake, they opted for a hot fudge sundae bar and instead of cake-cutting, they made a sundae and fed it to each other.
We had so much fun with Laina and Matt! And we thoroughly enjoyed getting to visit a new place in order to be a part of their special day.
