Lauren and Stephen will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Lauren and I went to school together from fifth grade to graduation. Lauren, Jessica, and I all grew up just a few miles from each other. Their ceremony was at a church in the town where Jessica and I were born. It was a "coming home" weekend.
Lauren and Stephen have a way of making you feel like you are home too. Like you're family. We were so happy they chose us to chronicle their special day.
Their very, very cold special day. Ha! It was 12 degrees for the high the day they got married. And the snow had hit pretty hard a couple of days before. Jessica and I are not used to that degree of cold anymore. Granted when we lived there growing up we were used to it, but now we have lived all over the US and in warmer states, so our blood has "thinned" a bit. Nonetheless, we worked quickly to get some beautiful portraits.
Another way Lauren and Stephen's wedding meant so much to us: they are a step family. Jessica and I have a step-father who means so much to us, and it was so wonderful to see the loving relationship Stephen has with Lauren's daughter, Hallee. They were so sweet that day with gifts and hugs. We loved seeing the three of them together.
Lauren and Stephen's reception was at The Toolshed at Breitenbach Winery. What a cool venue! There were wine barrels, wooden beams, string lights, and the most beautiful head table. Their mix of family and friends made for such a fun and loving atmosphere.
We had such a great time and I even got to see a group of people I went to high school with. We are so grateful Lauren and Stephen let us be a part of their special day!
