The day after we photographed Katie and Rob's engagement session, we met up with Laina and Matt in the morning. A very very cold morning. Thankfully, Laina and Matt are from Illinois, so they are so strangers to cold weather. However, cold is cold.
We worked fast to stay warm. But we got some awesome photos of the two of them. We met them at an undisclosed park in Prospect, which is used by Laina's sister-in-law to take photos of her clients. We were sworn to secrecy so that other photographers wouldn't come and steal it ha!
Matt seemed a little nervous and shy when we first started (and probably tired, it was 9 am). But he quickly loosened up and got into the groove of our photo-journalistic style. He and Laina had picture-perfect interactions and made our job so easy.
Laina and Matt are both teachers in Illinois and love it. In our "getting to know you" questionnaire we ask this question, and I love their answer: "It's a long weekend coming up and you're looking for something to do. What are your go-to activities?: Bonfire in the backyard with s'mores, Taproom with live outdoor music, Exploring nature trails if the weather is nice or a movie when we are tired of lesson planning the week and just want to step away from the planning." Trust me when I say, we all share that idea of getting away for a bit.
Laina's family owns a cute little old-fashioned soda parlor, chocolate shop, and deli. It's called Lagomarcino's and they have 2 locations in Moline, IL and Daveport, IA. Jessica and I can't wait to go there when we head to the Moline area for Laina and Matt's country club wedding!
