Emily & Michael | Louisville Wedding

Where do I even begin with Emily and Michael?  We have so much fun with these two every time we are around them.  They were referred to us by one of our couples from 2016, Bethany and Michael.  And from the time we met with them, we knew we would have such a special relationship with them.

Our day started at Emily and Michael's house, which they had actually sold only a few weeks earlier and had already purchased a new house!  Needless to say they had a lot on their plates going in to their wedding day.  But nothing seemed to phase Emily, she was just as happy as ever.  All 10 of her bridesmaids, the flower girl, and the ring bearer were all in the house getting ready.  It was lively chaos!  After we got Emily into her dress, she had a great reveal with her bridesmaids then we took some photos outside.  Then Jessica and I headed to the church to get some photos of the guys.

Emily and Michael decided to do a first look.  We could tell they were both so anxious and excited to see each other, and there was apparent relief and excitement on both of their faces once they saw each other.

During their ceremony, the priest read excerpts from letters they had each written to each other.  It was so wonderful to hear their personal words about their enthusiasm to be marrying one another.

Unfortunately, because of traffic our time got a little short before the ceremony, so we lost some time to take portraits of Emily and Michael.  However, just as we were leaving the church Jessica caught sight of the golden light from the sun so she quickly pulled them aside and grabbed as many photos as she could before they headed onto the party bus.

The reception at Woodhaven Country Club was so fun!  For their toast, Emily's sisters sang their own words to a Michael Jackson song just for Emily and Michael.  They followed that up with a heartfelt toast together.  (We also have the privilege of photographing Emily's sister, Amanda's, wedding in December!)

Once the general dancing started, the dance floor was packed.  They even brought out glow sticks for everyone to wave around as they danced.  It was so much fun, and made for some really fun photos.

We had such a great time with Emily and Michael, their family, and friends.  We are so happy they chose us to be a part of their special day!  (And we get to party with them again at Amanda's wedding in December!)
