Alyssa and Jake are such a fun couple! Alyssa's mom is the catering manager for The Henry Clay and Alyssa knew from the time she was just a little girl that she wanted, more than anything, to get married at The Henry Clay.
When we arrived, all of the girls were getting ready with our friends from The Beauty Patrol. Even the flower girl was getting all dolled up with hair and makeup. We got some photos of the details: rings, garter, and even pearls that were a graduation gift from Alyssa's parents. Alyssa had gotten the girls cute monogrammed tote bags. Alyssa got into her classic, stunning dress with the help of her bridesmaids and mom, and even her flower girl.
We took Alyssa out to the courtyard for a "first look" with her dad, who was quite the jokester. They had a cute moment. Then we got the girls and took their photos. They were such a lovely group of girls. When they finished, we hid them away and got the boys out of their hiding place. This is one of the best things about the Henry Clay; they have a ton of rooms for people to get ready. There are windows in every room too! The guys were crazy fun. But focused long enough for us to get some photos. It was a fun time.
After those photos, we had a TON of time to get some detail shots of the ceremony (on the 4th floor) and the reception (on the 2nd floor). We've shot at the Henry Clay a couple of times and most of the time the reception is on the ballroom on the 4th floor, so it was really neat to see a new set up. The 2nd floor ballroom, where Alyssa and Jake had their reception reminded Jessica and me of Beauty and the Beast ha!
Jake's good friend officiated the ceremony and did a great job. Jake's sister sang for them as well, while her husband played the piano. They also did a sand ceremony.
After some family photos, we took the bridal party to the courtyard for some group shots, and even got some in front of the building. Then we headed into the reception. Josh from Masters of Music did a great job, keeping the events flowing along and keeping people on the dance floor. They even had a photo booth. And the bartenders kept the signature drinks, a Moscow Mule and a Blushing Bride, flowing. There was also popcorn brought out later in the night with customized bags.
We had a great time with Alyssa and Jake! And we are so grateful we got to be a part of their special day!
