Megan and Adam are such a sweet, easy-going couple. We are so glad we were able to capture their day.
We started the, very hot, August day out at Gheens Foundation Lodge where the girls were getting ready and where the reception was taking place later that evening. The room was mostly set up for the reception, and so we put up our photo booth in the corner then got to work photographing Megan and her girls getting ready. And were even able to get photos of the reception tables and some of the small details that were set up. Megan had a lot of special details she would be carrying with her that day- her grandmother's brooch her mother wore for her wedding, a couple of charms with photos of her dogs, Jepp and Patsy, and a bracelet that was her grammy's. Once we were done with the details, Megan got into her dress. Then while Jessica stayed with the girls to get some group photos, as well as some solo photos of Megan, I headed off to the house where where the guys were getting ready.
The house where the guys were getting ready was Megan & Adam's house where we had taken some of their engagement photos on a crazy hot October day. I was a little disappointed their adorable dogs, Jepp and Patsy, weren't there to greet me (I love to pet ALL the dogs). The guys were all tying bow ties when I arrived, and there are always a couple who aren't well-versed and need a little help. Adam got his tied then he and I went off where he could open his gift from Megan. She had given me some insight about the gift before I got there, so I knew this would be a special moment. He loved it and even shed a few tears! Once all of the guys were ready they piled into a limo and we headed off to the church.
The girls arrived soon after and once they were put away we could bring the guys out for some quick portraits before the ceremony.
Once the ceremony had ended, we did some family portraits and group photos then headed off to the Lodge. Jessica got to ride in the trolley with the bridal party who chanted C-A-R-D-S for the Louisville Cardinals as they rode along! We got some fun group shots outside and some wonderful shots of just Megan and Adam. But alas, it was HOT, so we worked quickly then headed inside. When Megan and Adam were introduced, Adam further showed his love for the Louisville Cardinals, waving a towel representing the team.
The reception was so fun and went by so fast! Kudmani was amazing as usual, keeping the party going all night long. Megan's bridesmaids even got up and played the cowbell! Then at the end of the night Megan and Adam got up on the stage and sang along to Hall and Oates. As they exited they had all of their family and friends line up with ribbon wands for their formal exit. It was such a great night and we are so glad we got to be a part of it.
