Leyna & Matt | O'Shea's Louisville Wedding

Leyna and Matt had to perfect wedding to end our Fall Wedding season on.  We had a hectic year to this point, of course loving every minute of it, and we were in need of a relaxed wedding.  And when I say relaxed, I mean relaxed.  If you thought Andrea and Ben's wedding was small, Leyna and Matt had 20 people including Jessica and me!

We met up with Leyna at Focus Salon, right next to O'Shea's.  She was finishing up her hair, and her makeup was already done.  So, we grabbed a few shots of her then we headed over to the vacation rental her parents had rented across the street.  Yes, everything was within walking distance from each other.  We parked our car at O'Shea's and didn't have to drive anywhere till the end of the night!

After we got some detail photos, Leyna got into her beautiful, three-piece dress.  Her mom and bridesmaids were such a great help and we all had some good laughs together.  Leyna had a sweet first look with her dad out in front of the apartment.  Then we headed to Cave Hill Cemetery for her first look with Matt.  Yes, I said a cemetery.  If you're not from Louisville, you don't know that it is one of the most beautiful cemeteries.  And it is well-loved by photographers.  When you walk/drive in the front gates, there are no headstones for almost a quarter mile.  The road is lined with trees and grass.  And the whole cemetery is surrounded by a brick wall.  You would never know you are in a cemetery.

When the boys finally arrived, we put Matt in position, and then he and Leyna got to see each other for the first time.  It was so sweet!  And everyone else waited by the entrance so it was just the 4 of us (ok, 5 because our intern was there- more to come on that).  They talked a little and looked each other over; they were so happy to finally be together for the day.

After the portraits, we headed over to O'Shea's.  This weekend there just happened to be a Halloween parade on Bardstown Road.  So, as we walked back to O'Shea's a number of people said congratulations, or "is this a real wedding?" and two guys even asked to have their photo taken with Leyna and Matt.  It was interesting!

The ceremony was short and sweet.  For a unity ceremony, Leyna and Matt had found a glass artist who will give you pieces of blowing glass that you mix together for the ceremony then send them back to him and he makes you can art piece out of those.  It was so cool!  They even had a photo of the future design (check out the link in the vendor section of the post).

After dinner and a little dancing, we all headed into the Carriage House for them to cut their cake.  Leyna also gave Matt his wedding gift (he had given her a kitten as a gift a week or so earlier).  She got him a print out of the night sky from that very night, their wedding night!  It was so cool!!  Not too long after that we spotted the Ghostbusters hanging out on the patio of O'Shea's, so Leyna's maid-of-honor ran out and grabbed them for a photo with Leyna and Matt.  It was awesome!

We had such a great time with Leyna and Matt and can't wait for the promised kitten photo shoot this Spring!
