Gabby and Wade are such a sweet, loving couple. You may remember their awesome engagement session we got to do behind the scenes at Barton Distillery.
We started their wedding day at the Galt House in downtown Louisville. This was another day where rain threatened all day long. We had a great plan to have a first look in NuLu and get some fun bridal party shots in that area. Well, the weather had other plans, and all of that was shot when the clouds broke loose and it poured down rain. However, we are the queens of plan b. So, we had the guys come to the Galt House from their hotel and, after some fake shots of the guys getting ready, we found a perfect spot on the 29th floor of the hotel for a first look. There is a restaurant and a ballroom on that floor that were both empty, so we had it to ourselves for their first look, as well as some time for portraits. Those are some of my favorite photos of the day.
Gabby and Wade were both so nervous leading up to their first look. And we could tell that they instantly eased as soon as they saw each other and could spend the rest of the day together. Wade even brought Gabby a rose gold David Yurman bracelet, which she absolutely loved.
We then headed down to the third floor where there is a bar connecting the two towers of the Galt House. Most of the bridal party and family were there, and so Gabby and Wade decided to take some time to talk and have a drink with them. They were having such a great time with them that we decided to change up the plan again and move their bridal party shots to the church. Jessica got onto the party bus and I headed over alone. (I got a video on Instagram and it looked like quite the party)
Before the ceremony, we got some group photos of the bridal party. And Wade had gotten all of his groomsmen socks from their favorite college team, which made for a fun photo.
Copper and Kings Distillery is in the Butchertown area of Louisville. It's an up-and-coming area and there are some really cool places to take photos. The reception had originally been planned to be in the courtyard of the distillery, but again the rain had other plans. It was moved to a room on the second floor, which was just as lovely. Gabby's parents own Selena's at Willow Lake Tavern restaurant in Anchorage, so of course they catered the reception and the food was delicious. They also had a band at the reception, Music City Rhythm Revue, who did a great job keeping the dance floor packed the whole night.
For their send off, Gabby and Wade had pom-poms and towels for each of their colleges. The guests lined up and waved them around as they ran between the two lines of people. It was such a fun night. We are so glad we got to be a part of Gabby and Wade's special day!
