We had such an awesome time with Christine and Jones! They had the largest wedding we've done to date. We started with them on Friday night for their rehearsal dinner at the Kentucky Derby Museum. It was quite the event. They had a cocktail hour in the museum area, and then dinner in the reception room. The bugler even gave the call into dinner and played "My Old Kentucky Home!" It was a great rehearsal dinner.
We had decided to stay in the same hotel downtown as the bridal party, The Seelbach Hilton, so all we had to do on Saturday was get ready and head up a few floors. First, we met up with the girls and took some photos of them getting their hair and makeup done. Then I went into one of their other rooms and photographed the dresses, flowers, and other details. Before Christine got into her dress, she gave all of her bridesmaids gifts, and some to her parents. Then I was sent down a couple of floors to photograph the guys getting ready and Jones opening his gift from Christine. They each got the other one the most practical gifts; he got a fun beach towel and a Hawaiian shirt and she got a pair of Chacos.
After Christine got into her dress, someone asked her if she had any perfume. She produced a bottle of perfume Jones had bought five years ago when they started dating. It was half full. And though it wasn't the "latest" scent, she had kept it all of these years because it was from him.
Once everyone was ready, we took Christine down to the lobby for their first look. She was very specific and wanted it to be perfect, and we were able to pull it off just the way she wanted! Jones came off the elevator blindfolded, while Christine stood at the top of the stairs with her dress "splayed" out on the stairs (that was the specific word Christine used to describe how she wanted it and we loved it, so we kept saying it all day). After the first look, we grabbed a few portraits of the two of them while we waited for the bridal party to come downstairs. Then we got some group shots, and then it was time for us to head out to the church.
Their ceremony was lovely and very personal. Afterwards, we took a handful of family photos then it was time to head to the Ice House for the big party. Before they went in, we were able to snag Christine and Jones for a few sunset photos on the adjacent parking garage that turned out beautifully.
Christine and Jones chose Kudmani as their band. They kept the party going all night long! As usual the food from Crushed Ice was delightful. We had such a great time with Christine and Jones and their family and friends. We are so grateful they chose us to be a part of their special day.
