Bethany & Michael | Mellwood Arts Center Wedding

What do I even say about Bethany and Michael's wedding?!  It was AWESOME!  We had so much fun from the beginning.

We started the day at Bethany's parents' house to get shots of the girls getting ready and of the details.  While Jessica finished taking the photos of the girls, I headed over to the Marriott down the street to get photos of the guys getting ready.  Now, that was a sight, 10 groomsmen and the groom all struggling to tie their bow ties.  There were phones with youtube videos playing, one groomsmen helping another, and 2 or 3 of them in the bathroom at once to check their own tie.  Bethany and Michael exchanged gifts; Bethany received a beautiful necklace, jewelry box, and tickets to see Beauty and the Beast and Michael got a Bourbon barrel top with their last name and wedding date.

I'm going to be honest here, and I know that everyone who was there would agree with me, the day was HOT.  I'm talking a sauna.  A bridal party with 20 people all in long dresses and full suits out in the heat makes for fast photos.

Despite the heat, we got some beautiful photos of Bethany and Michael's "first look" on a bridge at Anchorage Trail Park.  The moment was wonderful.

As mentioned in the blog post of Bethany and Michael's engagement session, Michael's brother Steven had died from a rare cancer and he was greatly missed on their wedding day.  However, they were sure to include him in different ways; a photo and lit candle at the ceremony as well as a guitar pick with his name on bouquets.  And a song dedicated to his memory at the reception.

Bethany and Michael's reception at the Mellwood Arts Center was perfect.  The big open space they had rented was great for their guests and the large dance floor easily accommodated the band, Endless Summer Band, and the crowd of dancing guests.  Michael's dad even made a cameo in the band, playing "Mustang Sally" on the guitar.

We had so much fun that whole day.  Bethany and Michael both made our jobs so easy.  And we are so thankful to them and their family for choosing us to be a part of their special day.
